Niina Ratsula is a pioneer in sustainable working life, inspiring companies and organizations to build responsible and ethical work environments. Niina holds a Doctorate in Business Administration, is an author, entrepreneur, and above all, a passionate advocate for sustainable working life. A modern company understands that for future competitiveness, stakeholder trust is critical. Trust is built by ensuring that the company operates on a sustainable basis. To harness responsible practices as a key to success, in addition to a sustainable business model, individuals are needed for whom responsibility means more than just a company’s brand promise.
“Even as the planet’s resources are stretched thin and workplaces are filled with injustices, it’s crucial to maintain faith in the future.”
For over 20 years, Niina has researched and articulated the significance of sustainable working life for business success. Her expertise lies in how organizations can build trust with stakeholders and gain a competitive advantage through sustainable practices. She doesn’t see responsibility as merely a trendy term but as a critical success factor.
In her presentations, Niina guides organizations on an inspiring journey where responsibility and sustainable business are built from a humane and fair corporate culture. She offers tangible tools for leaders and employees to create ethically sustainable practices and develop an organizational culture that supports responsible goals.
Niina adeptly combines researched knowledge, real-life stories, and personal experiences in her presentations to demonstrate that responsibility is both a challenge and an opportunity. She prompts listeners to consider what responsibility means for their work and how they can contribute to a sustainable working life through their actions.
“We all have something to learn about the sustainability of our actions, and each of us can contribute to building a more sustainable working life and business.”
Niina has over 12 years of experience in leadership and specialist roles in the corporate world, focusing on developing responsible business practices at publicly traded companies such as Nokia and Kemira. She founded the Code of Conduct Company, supporting organizations and leaders in their journey towards a more sustainable future. Niina is also the co-founder of the Nordic Business Ethics initiative and was awarded the Responsible Influencer of the Year by Bonfire Agency in 2019.
She has authored five non-fiction books and hosts the popular podcast “Moraalit(on)” (Morals Are) . As a speaker, Niina is known for her presence, spontaneity, and engaging style. Her presentations convey genuine passion and a desire to create a more sustainable future. Niina is fluent in both Finnish and English and is an experienced event moderator and host.

How can companies act ethically and sustainably in an uncertain and polarized world?
In the past, a company’s value was defined by physical assets such as machinery and buildings. Today, questions regarding a company’s reputation, public opinion, and trust are more important than ever. Building trust requires making sustainable choices—but who determines what is right, sustainable, or responsible? One wrong choice can shatter trust in an instant.
In this speech, you will learn how to act ethically and build trust with your own staff, customers, and other key stakeholders in a world that is more polarized and uncertain than ever before.
Sustainability as the Superpower of Future-Proof Businesses
In the future, sustainable businesses are expected to demonstrate responsible and ethically sound practices. The bar for how companies are expected to demonstrate their responsibility has significantly risen to win the trust of their stakeholders.
In this speech, you will learn how to define responsible practices in a world that is more uncertain and polarized than ever before. You will receive concrete tips for developing the responsibility of your own organization and engaging the entire workforce on the journey.
The Goal: Ethically Sustainable Working Life
Niina has co-authored a book with her colleagues aiming to bring forth difficult, even uncomfortable topics for discussion, which hinder the realization of ethically sustainable working life, thereby causing workplace distress, inefficiency, and limiting our competitiveness.
In this speech, Niina gently and curiously raises difficult questions that are the harsh reality of our working life: discrimination, harassment, corruption, and inappropriate behavior. Instead of hunting for culprits, Niina invites you on a journey to learn why good people sometimes make bad choices and how we can learn to reflect on our actions through our work environment.
From this speech, you will gain concrete tools and tips on how each of us can contribute to building a more ethically sustainable working life.
The book ‘The Goal: Ethically Sustainable Working Life’ can also be integrated into the speech.
