In his speeches, Patrick discusses his accidental entrepreneurship and the importance of creativity in business. He stresses the importance of doing one simple thing well, paring down your brand and listening to the needs of the customer. It doesn’t matter if it’s engineering or fashion: it’s about making the product amazing. Patrick has inspired people his whole career, he is an articulate speaker and offers great insight into the world of design, innovation and brand creation.
Patrick has worked in a number of different industries before a passion for clothing, craftsmanship and old British brands lead him to Savile Row tailors, Norton & Sons which he took over in 2005. He won the British Fashion Council’s Menswear Designer of the Year award in 2010 for his work on E. Tautz. He was also named Retailer of the Year at the 2008 Scottish Fashion Awards. In 2012 he won the BFC’s Fashion Forward award and was shortlisted for Designer of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Awards and International Designer of the Year at the WGSN Global Fashion Awards. Patrick is a regular in best dressed lists in the UK, he has appeared for the past five years in GQ’s 50 Best Dressed Men.
